Bosch washer commits hari-kari!

There's a great thread over at GardenWeb by a user whose Bosch washing machine recently self-destructed. This is a great post. I found her casual tone to be refreshing. No screeching and gnashing of teeth, no empty threats of a class-action lawsuit, no claims that her super-premium washer should have lasted long enough to be pass down to her great-granddaughter.

Notice she bought the extended warranty, and will likely be getting a new machine!

I just returned my Bosch 500 Series that I owned for three weeks to the store and bought a Whirlpool duet set. The Bosch wouldn't dry the clothes.. it would kick off before they were dry everytime no matter how many items were in the dryer. I always had to use time drying or otherwise the E:01 and lint detector would shut it down... the noise of the buzzer about put us in divorce mode, who was getting up next to reset it; Worse than a hungry crying baby.

That's a shame, because if you would clean your lint/exhaust tube with a brush and get all the stuff out, you wouldn't have returned a perfectly good dryer.

$25 lint brush kit from Brookstone would have solved your problems.

Your dryer was designed to do that and turn off so it doesn't melt down due to lack of user maintenance on their dryer vents!!!
